Our research is focused on neuronal physiology and how normal function fails in diseased brains. We use advanced research techniques to investigate neuronal development and maturation in order to guide our work on adult onset degeneration, such as Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases. We hope that a better understanding of the causes of these diseases will provide neuroprotective therapies with which to prevent them. Our research is generously supported by the government of Canada and a number of philanthropic foundations.
